Speaker. Entrepreneur. Philanthropist.
One of the GREATS of tomorrow
From the dusty streets of a small township called Kanyamazane, Tsepiso Makhubedu started her entrepreneurial journey at the tender age of 12. She finally hit the big time in 2013 when she was selected as one of only 12 out of a staggering 25000 South African entrepreneurs that would take part in the biggest social entrepreneurship competition in the country, The Big Break Legacy.
Three months before the commencement of the TV segment of The Big Break Legacy, Tsepiso was involved in a head-on collision that left her in a wheelchair. But with a mind full of ambition and a heart full of bravery, Tsepiso fought her way up from wheelchair to world stage and had a speedy recovery that enabled her to partake in the TV show.
During the TV segment of The Big Break Legacy, which was broadcasted on SABC 2 and CNBC Africa to over 12 million people, Tsepiso showcased business acumen, disciplined dedication, financial expertise, and strong leadership skills which often left the judges and viewers in awe. The show was judged by seasoned business moguls such as Wendy Luhabe, Lebo Gunguluza, Ezra Ndwandwe and Ellis Mnyandu. After 6 months of competing against entrepreneurs who were much older and more experienced than she was, Tsepiso won the 2nd prize, being the first female and the youngest person in the history of the show to reach the finale. She was only 19 years old.
After the show, Tsepiso went on to co-founded a social enterprise called Royal-T Books, a financial literacy publishing company - its greatest success being the launch and sales of an ECD entrepreneurship and financial literacy book range that was endorsed by Mpumalanga MEC of Education, Ms Regina Mhaule. She had a successful exit from the business in 2016.
As an aspiring philanthropist she has also founded a charitable organisation called Children of Success. Children of Success aims to eradicate poverty by equipping 15000 young people annually, with soft and hard skills that enable them to lead, innovate and uplift their communities.
As a speaker, she addresses the management of JSE listed companies such as FNB and York Timbers, graduates of institutions such as The University of Pretoria and TUT as well as the stakeholders of SAICA, The Nelson Mandela Foundation, The NYDA and many more.
The story of her journey has been featured on Entrepreneur Magazine, Destiny Man, GetIt Lowveld, Move Magazine, Radio 2000, SAfm, Cliff Central, Mentor Feed, PowerFM, and many more other platforms.
At only 25 years of age, she has many accomplishments under her belt including a BCom Degree from The University of Pretoria and an Advanced Diploma in Accounting Sciences from UNISA. However, she has been adamant in stating that despite her achievements, this is only the beginning for one of the GREATS of tomorrow.
Tsepiso's professional speaking career began in 2013. Since then she has addressed over 8000 leaders who come from corporate, educational institutions, communities and entrepreneurial backgrounds.

She managed to unlock a different thought from most of them and amazed the older audience with her delivery and wittiness on some of the branding topics she spoke about."- Nthabeleng Duiker County Manager – Southern Gauteng Region, Commercial Business Unit, VodacomBrand School 101: The Brand School 101 Workshop was aimed at young entrepreneurs and professionals who want to know more about incorporating marketing tactics and creative design to the workplace. We called Tsepiso only two weeks before the actual engagement but she still went out of her way to make it. Getting our message across required an entrepreneur who young people can relate to and learn from, someone who could communicate with ease. To say Tsepiso delivered is an understatement. I’ve booked Tsepiso on various projects over the past few years and she is always top of mind to recommend for any speaking engagement. Her delivery, whether addressing school kids, professionals or entrepreneurs, is always well prepared and structured to suit the audience. There are very few people that I would put name on the line for; Tsepiso Makhubedu is one of them. - Ashley Thekiso - Partner Brand School 101, Founder AshonFood
